EXCEL SERVICES
The 2007 and 2010 versions of SharePoint includes what is called Excel Services. It is a server technological application which can enable users to display workbooks from Excel on the server of SharePoint 2010. Also, users can take their Excel workbooks and use them for loading and calculating. With Excel Services, whatever workbooks users create are what they can reuse and share on portals and dashboards of the 2010 server of SharePoint.
Furthermore, there are many more things that end-users can do with Excel Services like:
- Using an internet browser to view live-interactive workbooks of Excel
- Interacting with workbooks of Excel and exploring data
- Using an internet browser to analyze charts and reports from a PivotTable
- Having connection strings to external services of data either in the workbooks of Excel or to centrally save them in a library file with a connection of data
MICROSOFT INFOPATH
Microsoft InfoPath is a server and software application used for stuff like designing, distributing, filling and submitting electronic forms with data structure. It was initially released with Microsoft as part of the 2003 version of Office. With this software application, it can feature what is called a WYSIWYG form designer that can be formed to have data and also a view of folders and fields of data.
MICROSOFT PROJECT SERVER
Microsoft Project Server is a type of server solution given by Microsoft and is meant for project management. With Project Server, it can use SharePoint as its own foundation to support an interface either from Project as a client application or from an internet browser being connected to a component of its Project Web App (PWA).
MICROSOFT SEARCH SERVER
Microsoft Search Server is a platform server for an enterprise search and is brought by Microsoft. This server is based on the capabilities of doing a search from the SharePoint server. With Search Server, it can share underpinnings of architecture with a platform of Windows Search for both the engine of queries and indexers. Also, it can provide a interface with a search center to give the UI for querying.
SKYPE FOR BUSINESS SERVER
Skype for Business Server is a software server used for instant messaging, presence, VoIP, ad hoc and structured conferences and a connection of PSTN either throughout a third-party getaway or a SIP trunk. With this software server, it can be known for real-time communications.
